AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

Early defibrillation to the heart is a critical treatment as it can help restore a regular heartbeat. A victim’s chances for survival are dramatically improved through early CPR and defibrillation.

In the past, only qualified physicians or paramedics were able to defibrillate the heart. Nowadays, the general public who have received adequate training in the use of an AED apparatus can defibrillate.

This is a three and a half hour course, which looks at how the heart works, when the heart stops (cardiac arrest), CPR and the use of the AED and defibrillation.

Course Duration: 3.5 hours

Certificate:

CPR & AED valid for 2 years.
